Privacy Policy
This policy describes what data the Finances app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android handles and what happens to it.
In short. Everything you enter — accounts, transactions, payments, goals — is stored locally on your device. The app has no accounts, analytics or ads, and the developer has no access to your numbers. The app goes online for public currency rates and market quotes — the requests contain nothing about you, and the quotes ticker can be turned off; to check a Finances Pro access code if you entered one (only the code itself is sent); and for a family budget on supported Apple devices if you created one or accepted an invitation (its data syncs through iCloud, encrypted, and only its members can see it). The Android version never goes online.
Account names and balances, transactions with amounts, categories, tags and notes, scheduled payments, income schedule, limits, goals and app settings. This data is used only so the app can do its job — keep your records and show a forecast.
In the app’s local storage on your device. On iPhone and iPad the data file is protected by system encryption and is not accessible to other apps. Device backups (iCloud Backup or a local backup) follow your system settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
On Android the data lives in the app’s private folder, which other apps cannot access. Google’s automatic backup and system transfer to a new phone are turned off for Finances data: a copy exists only when you export a file yourself.
The app lock — Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint or screen lock passcode — is checked by the device’s system; the app only receives “confirmed” or “not confirmed” and never sees your fingerprint or passcode.
Voice entry. The microphone turns on only when you press the record button. Speech is recognized on the device itself; the recording is not saved or sent anywhere. If on-device recognition is unavailable, the app offers to type instead.
Receipt scanner. The camera turns on only on the scanning screen to read a receipt QR code — the amount and time of purchase. Images are not saved.
Widgets show your free amount and spending on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. For that, the app keeps a short summary in a section shared with its widgets on the device. If hidden amounts or Face ID sign-in are on, amounts are hidden on the Lock Screen.
Siri and Shortcuts. You can log an expense or ask for your free amount by voice. Siri speech is processed by Apple according to the Siri settings on your device; the app receives only the text of the command.
A family budget means shared accounts and transactions with the people close to you. It exists only if you created one or accepted an invitation; otherwise the app does not contact iCloud at all. Your personal budget never goes to iCloud.
Where it is stored. The family budget’s data — its accounts, transactions, scheduled payments, income schedule, limits, goals, categories, tags and shared settings — is stored in the iCloud of the person who created it (CloudKit) and as a copy on members’ devices. Record contents are encrypted with the members’ iCloud keys, so only they can read them. Storage in iCloud is governed by Apple’s privacy policy; the developer has no access to this data and receives no copies.
Who can see it. Only people the creator invited through the system iCloud sharing screen. They can see and change all data in that budget. Invitations and the member list are standard iCloud features: participants’ names and addresses are handled by Apple.
Change notifications. So that family changes arrive without opening the app, iCloud sends silent system notifications. They show nothing on screen and contain none of your data.
How to leave. A member can leave the budget in the app’s settings — the copy disappears from their device. The creator can stop sharing or delete the budget for everyone; the data is then removed from iCloud and from members’ devices.
Other devices receive changes and access revocations when they connect to iCloud. Local changes may be retained for recovery if synchronization fails. Copies exported by participants and their backups cannot be remotely deleted; each holder manages those copies.
On the Today screen, a ticker under the free amount shows currency rates and crypto, stock and index prices. For it, the app itself — not the developer’s server — requests public data: Bank of Russia rates (cbr.ru), European Central Bank rates (through the open service frankfurter.dev), crypto prices from CoinGecko (coingecko.com), and quotes from the Moscow Exchange (moex.com) and Yahoo Finance (yahoo.com). Bank of Russia and ECB rates also convert accounts in other currencies; the app loads them for that only if you have such accounts.
The requests contain nothing about you — no financial data and no identifiers, only which quotes are needed. As with any website request, these services see the device’s IP address; their own policies describe how they handle it. The ticker and each of its parts can be turned off in Settings → Appearance → “Rates & Quotes”. The Android version does not load rates or quotes.
Payment and logging reminders are local notifications on the device itself. Permission is requested only when you turn reminders on. A payment notification does not include the payment’s name, amount or account; the weekly summary hides amounts when hidden amounts is on. On Android, notification permission is requested when you turn on a payment reminder, and reminders are scheduled with the system’s alarms on that phone.
In the app’s settings you can export all data to a JSON file and keep it as a backup, and delete all data in one step. Deleting the app from the device also erases its local storage. Family budget data in iCloud is deleted from that budget’s settings (section 5).
The app’s core features are free. Advanced analytics and the assistant are unlocked with a Finances Pro access code, as is creating a family budget (joining by invitation needs no code). If you enter a code, the app sends only that code to the developer’s server — when you enter it and later to check when it expires. No device identifiers, location or financial data are sent.
The server stores the code, its tier, expiry date and number of activations. The app does not request, receive or store payment details. Access codes are not yet supported in the Android version.
The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children, and is not intended for people younger than the age set by the App Store and Google Play rules for the Finance category.
If the app gains new features that require processing data outside the device, this policy will be updated before such a version is released, and the date at the top of the page will change. The September 24, 2026 revision added the family budget through iCloud (section 5) and currency rates with market quotes (section 6).
